An easy and hassle-free way to get clothes altered and repaired.
When shopping secondhand, people often find items they love but that aren’t their size. Key insight indication that 80% have clothes they need altering or repairing but 79% don’t own a sewing machine and only 30% had gone to a Seamster in the last 12 months. There is a huge need for an easy and hassle-free way at their fingertips.
We serve ethically conscious fashion consumers who want to shop second hand without sizing restrictions and also make the clothes they own last longer. Our app/website and delivery service offer our customers an easy and hassle-free way to get their clothes altered and repaired by connecting them with the services of local Seamster businesses in just a few simple clicks.
Our main target customers are 15-35 year old fashion consumers who often shop second hand. The secondhand market is booming, set to double in the next 3 years, to be worth $51B globally and to be bigger than fast fashion by 2028. Currently over a third of 15-24 year olds are on Depop in the UK. This market is ideal because the items are one-sized ‘one-offs’ & therefore will frequently need altering. Furthermore, keeping clothes for longer and repairing clothing is an environmental movement gaining traction to reduce fashion waste, with a 2020 FT article titled “Why mending is trending.” We will be actively targeting both these markets, but our service is not limited to them. We have many other areas to expand into and given everyone wears clothes, the possibilities are virtually endless.
