Problem

Writer’s block sucks. For writers who depend on writing for income, it sucks even more. Producing content fast can be vital for these writers. Almost every writer experiences writer’s block in some shape or form, and there’s currently no reliable way to overcome it.

Solution

Shortly uses very large AI language models (currently GPT-3) to act as a creative writing assistant. Currently, the writer just clicks a button and the AI continues to write the story, generating new creative ideas and story developments. Because it uses what the writer has already written as context, one writer described it to me as “a creative extension of my own brain”.

Market

Creative software is estimated to be a >$10B revenue market in the US and users range from hobbyists to professionals. The global Natural Language Processing (NLP) market size is projected to reach $27.6 Billion by 2026, from $9.9 Billion in 2020, at a CAGR of 18.6% during 2020-2026.
