BEAUTY NOIR

Helping Afro-Caribbean women, find, book and review beauty services.

Problem

In the Afro-Caribbean community, word of mouth is commonly used to find beauty vendors, as shown by 48% of people we surveyed. Without a good network, 63% of people struggle to find services. Many Afro-Caribbean services are not listed on Google because they don’t have a website, or they get lost in the algorithm.

Solution

Providing Afro-Caribbean women a trustworthy beauty service provider whatever the occasion, price-point or location. Our website offers our customer a simple way to find, book and review beauty services in one place using our ever-expanding directory of both established and emerging beauty service providers and our custom booking and review system.

Market

There are currently 1 million Afro-Caribbean women, who are looking to book beauty better. ~£8Billion a year is spent in the UK hair and beauty industry, not including emerging beauty vendors such as those on Instagram. Black women spend 9 times more on beauty than the average consumer. The British Beauty Council has recognised a significant shift in the way the beauty business is conducted with the emergence of online influencers, particularly on Instagram.
